Clear Braces
A sparkling and beautiful smile is what we all desire and at Keene Dentistry & Implants clear braces are an alternative to metal braces that are utilized to straighten crooked or crowded teeth. Clear braces are clear orthodontic devices known as aligners that are similar to Invisalign and are offered by our dentists at our practice for all patients who wish to achieve a straight and perfectly aligned set of teeth. Unlike the metal braces, where brackets of connecting wires are placed on the teeth, aligners are custom-made clear plastic retainers that slip over the teeth making them a less-noticeable alternative to metal braces.
Treatment process for Clear Braces
At Keene Dentistry & Implants we offer dental consultation to our patients followed by a dental evaluation to determine whether clear braces are the right choice for them. Following the first consultation, dental x-rays, physical teeth impressions and 3D digital images of the teeth are taken to ensure a precise fit for the braces. The movement of the teeth to correct the bite is identified so as to offer a snug fit for the teeth. At Keene Dentistry & Implants clear braces are custom-made from a clear plastic or acrylic material and may be removed when eating, brushing and flossing the teeth.
Clear Braces work to give a straight smile
Clear aligners offer potential benefits for the teeth by slightly shifting the teeth, both horizontally and vertically, while also rotating the misaligned teeth if necessary. The aligners are specially designed to apply the right amount of force for the teeth. We may offer our patients new aligners every few weeks to ensure continued progression of the teeth to the correct position. Patients are recommended to wear the clear aligners for up to 20-22 hours a day.
Straightening teeth by utilizing clear braces similar to Invisalign depends on the dental condition of the patient. Although treatment of using clear braces may show results within 3 months, treatment time varies for each patient for a number of reasons, such as, how much the teeth need to be shifted, how altered the bite is, how crooked and crowded the teeth are.
Why our Clear Braces are a better choice over metal braces
Having a good overall appearance of the mouth, teeth and smile plays a significant role in our day to day lives and clear braces, unlike metal braces, can assist in achieving a better smile without being noticeable when undergoing treatment.
